Backdrop and Monoprint

I decided to make a backdrop last minute as I thought just pinning or sticking the pieces onto the wall was not quiet enough. I also monprinted the leaves during the same session.

I used a sponge and taped some dried pine needles to apply coffee onto the backdrop.

Backdrop drying before adding another layer of coffee.

Monoprinting with real leaves.

The first print after I flipped the leaves.

Ghost print afterward removing the leaves.

There was still some ink after the ghost print.

So I did another ghost print.

I did the same for red where I ran the leaves through the press before flipping them for my actual prints.

Ghost print again.

I was curious, so I applied two layers of ink on top of the plate before applying the leaves.

The green was stripped away leaving a brown yellow.

I proceeded to print resulting two shades of leaves on a single print.
