Sparrows

After scraping the idea of including Buddhism, I decided to incorporate 9 sparrows into the installation. I also decided to make a plate with hand-drawn leaves.

Trying plate oil and transparent ink.

Definitely easier to apply ink onto plate.

I managed to achieve the lighter shades I wanted by selective wiping for my first print.

Using q-tips to apply ‘a la poupee’. It also made wiping delicate areas a lot easier.

There were very minimal smudging in the resulting print from applying the black ink.
