Habitual Patterns

Food is something that always brings people together no matter the place especially if they are from Guangzhou. We would often reach for the porcelain plate or bowl at our home for serving food at gatherings. I thought about translating a part of that into the monotype by mimicking the pattern on yupo paper.

To get this pattern on yupo paper, I tried to use Chinese cutting techniques. However, the paper was too thick and I was not able to get the result that I wanted.
